Accessify: ADA & EAA Widget · Last updated 19 October 2026

Accessify is a Shopify app made by COMCODE d.o.o. (“we”). It adds an accessibility widget to a Shopify store, publishes an accessibility statement page and helps the merchant describe product images. This policy explains what data the app handles when a merchant installs it and when shoppers visit the merchant’s store.

Shoppers

The accessibility widget runs entirely in the shopper’s browser. The choices a shopper makes in it (for example bigger text or high contrast) are saved in that browser’s local storage so they stay the same from page to page. They are never sent to us or to anyone else.

The widget does not use cookies, does not track shoppers, does not collect names, emails, addresses, orders or any other personal data, and does not load anything from our servers: its script and settings are served by Shopify.

Merchants

When a merchant installs and uses the app we process:

DataWhy
Store domain, store name and store contact email (from Shopify)To identify the store, run the app and start the accessibility statement form with the store’s details.
An access token issued by ShopifyTo call the Shopify APIs the merchant approved on install: read products and themes, write files (image descriptions) and online store pages (the statement).
Widget settings and the answers given in the statement form, including the accessibility contact email and phone the merchant chooses to publishTo show the widget the way the merchant set it up and to create and update the statement page.
Subscription status (from Shopify)To switch the widget on while the store has an active plan or trial.
Messages sent through the app’s Help page (email, subject, message)To answer support requests.
Basic usage of the app’s admin pages (which pages are opened, install and uninstall dates)To understand how the app is used and improve it.

Product image descriptions the merchant writes are saved directly in the merchant’s Shopify store. We don’t keep product data.

We don’t sell data, don’t use it for advertising and don’t share it with third parties except the service providers that run the app for us: Google Cloud (hosting and database, United States) and our own support and customer management system. Payments are handled by Shopify; we never see payment details.

Retention and deletion

When the app is uninstalled we delete the access token right away. Shopify asks us to delete the store’s data 48 hours later, and we then delete the store’s record with its settings and statement answers. The statement page and image descriptions stay in the store, since they belong to the merchant. Support conversations are kept as long as needed to handle the request and for our records.

Requests to access or delete customer data that Shopify forwards to apps are answered automatically: the app stores no shopper data.

Your rights

Merchants can ask us at any time what data we hold about their store, and ask us to correct or delete it. Write to [email protected]. If you are in the EU you also have the right to complain to your data protection authority.

Changes

If we change how the app handles data we will update this page and the date above.
